Welcome to Dr. Scott Foley and Dr. Marion Che

Dr. Foley is a graduate of StFX (2009) and originally from the Annapolis Valley.    He went on to medical school at Dalhousie University and then completed his Family Medicine residency at McMaster University while spending two years living in Kitchener-Waterloo.  He returned to Dalhousie University to complete his Emergency Medicine residency.   He began his work in the Emergency Department in March of 2020.

Dr. Che completed her medical school at Dalhousie University. She then completed Family Medicine residency at McMaster University while spending two years living in Kitchener-Waterloo.  She returned to Dalhousie University to complete a Palliative Care residency.  She is now part of the Palliative Care Department.

In a Zoom interview they commented “We have found Antigonish to be a very welcoming and active community.  There is always something going on and at any point you can see people running, walking, families biking together which is nice to see.  There are a lot of outdoor activities for us especially with hiking trails, beaches and Keppoch being nearby.“  Scott enjoys the mountain biking at The Keppoch and Marion is more into town biking so far.

“We have been so appreciative of the community members who have volunteered their time to help with recruitment and retention of physicians.  We are also very lucky to have such a supportive physician community as well.  When COVID was more active, we would have weekly zoom meetings to check in with one another and sometimes do group virtual yoga sessions.”  Marion continues “It has been a great experience so far especially since I’m new to Antigonish, we do not have family here and we are both new into our careers. Our hope is to attract more physicians to the area and to show them all of the positive experiences we have experienced ourselves.”
